Miss. Ali's Class news for the weeks of Feb 9th and Feb 16th

The past two weeks we have been discussing Multiculturalism! We talked about how everyone is different, lives in different places, look different and have different customs and families.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of last week, we were fortunate enough to have some parent volunteers come in to talk about different places that they have lived around the world.

On Monday, Fred Squires came in to talk to the children about living in Israel! We learned how big Israel was, was kind of food they eat there and what they enjoy doing for fun!
We got to create our own beautiful Israeli flag too! We even got to sample some delicious jelly doughnuts!

On Tuesday, Fanny Ziegler came in to talk about growing up in Argentina! We learned about different animals that were found in Argentina and what their names were in Spanish! Fanny even read us a book in Spanish! We got to color and label our very own map of Argentina! Fanny also brought in a delicious cookie that is eaten as a treat in Argentina!

On Wednesday, Gloria Baroni came in to discuss Italy! We played a picture matching game, where we had to locate Italian landmarks on a map! We also got to color a picture of what a Doctor looks like in Italy! We got to sample some delicious bread sticks and hazelnut spread~!

THANK YOU TO ALL THE WONDERFUL PARENTS WHO CAME IN!

This week we wrapped up our unit on Multiculturalism by making a rainbow of all different color people, we called this "Living in Harmony" because everyone is different, but we all should live in peace and be happy.

We completed our letter of the Week "K" and did a fun "K" words project. We also began practicing the number 9!
