Welcome to Pre-K! Our First Week of School!

We had a GREAT first week of Pre-K!

On our first week back at school we talked about classroom rules and being in a new class (we even developed our own rules for our class!) We also learned about the food pyramid and how to eat healthy!

We have started our Handwriting Without Tears Workbook and are off to a good start! We are learning how to follow directions, how to write our names and how to hold a pencil. We have also begun to practice some Language Arts and Math worksheets!

The children made some beautiful projects such as a painting a placemat for when we have snack time, making a Rosh Hashanah Card, creating classroom rules and putting together a back to school collage!

We were also very excited to start our first week of jobs! The children are fulfilling many roles within our classroom and are gaining responsibility. We also have a new "pet" in our class. The children have named our new piggy bank, "Arden, R2D2, Sally" Pig. We feed her every week for Tzedakah, and she really enjoys being full! Please encourage your children to bring money and feed our piggy!

We were so excited to meet Miss. Vanda, our new drama teacher and have our first class with her! The children learned some new vocab words and acted out their favorite characters. They also did a great warm up activity where they practiced "exercising" their voices.

Books We Read This Week:

Monday- "Jake Starts School"

Tuesday- "Growing Vegetable Soup"

Wednesday- "David Goes to School"

Thursday- "Mrs. McBloom, Clean Up Your Classroom!"

Friday- "Sammy Spiders First Rosh Hashanah"

A BIG THANK YOU, to our First Royal Reader of the year, Deb Glassman!!

Hoping everyone had great weekend and holiday!
