Check Out What Happened This Week In Pre-K...

We have had a busy and crazy month of October in the Pre-K!

This week we discussed the many different holidays that fall during the week of October 6th and the week of October 13th.

On Monday, we talked about Yom Kippur and made a fun shofar necklace that the children pretended to blow. Tuesday, we talked about the harvest holiday of Sukkot. The children were split into 2 groups to make BIG sukkah's. They decorated the sukkah's with leaves, fruits, vegetables, people and plants, crayons and markers! Our beautiful sukkah's are displayed in our classroom. Please make sure to take a look at what a great job the children did! Wednesday, we made a delicious and glittery fruit salad for Sukkot, and Thursday we had a little break from school because of Yom Kippur. Friday we talked about Columbus Day, and made a Christopher Columbus silly puppet!

We didnt have drama this week because of Yom Kippur, but we look forward to seeing Miss. Vanda next week!

Our letter of the week this week was letter "E." We practiced "air drawing" it and then completed some letter "E" pages in our Handwriting Without Tears workbooks. We also discussed at circle time some words that began with the letter "E." We thought of 25 words, and wrote them on our blackboard!

We reviewed the numbers 1-3 and had some more practice writing those numbers in our workbooks.

In Language Arts, we talked once again about pictures and words that are the SAME and DIFFERENT. The children are really getting a hang of this concept and did a wonderful job with their work and following directions!
